TAM is seeking presenters/speakers on transit-related topics, especially those dealing with the challenges posed by the current COVID-19 pandemic.  Our goal is to share best practices and lessons learned from across Maryland. We are looking to hold at least one webinar per month, available to our members to attend free of charge.

Some topics of interest are:

  • Sourcing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and essential cleaning supplies
  • Dealing with workforce challenges arising from the pandemic
  • Planning for a restoration of service
  • Training passengers to follow social distancing guidelines
  • Communicating effectively in the ‘new normal’
  • Strategic planning during and after the pandemic
  • Procurement under the CARES act
  • Managing employees working remotely
  • Modernizing fare-collection post COVID-19
  • Virtual meeting best practices
  • Adapting fixed route system to the new reality

When will the webinars be held and for how long?

TAM’s goal is to offer at least one webinar per month.  Dates will be scheduled based on presenter availability.  We plan on each speaker having a maximum of 15 minutes to present, including Q&A from the virtual attendees (time permitting). Each webinar will be no more than 1 hour in length.

What are the presentation guidelines?

  1. Provide a powerpoint presentation to be used for your part of the webinar.
  2. You must have videoconferencing capability to participate.
  3. Participate in a pre-presentation rehearsal meeting to make sure all presenters are familiar with our webinar hosting software, Webex. TAM will handle all technical aspects of the webinar including training the presenters and monitoring/assisting with the entire live webinar presentation to assure the highest quality webinar.

How do I submit my presentation proposal?

TAM has created a COVID-19 presentation proposal submission form (click here to submit). You will be able to submit your topic along with a brief description of what you are interested in presenting.
